The Voice – Cee Lo’s Summer Sangria

Serve theme-party sangria at your next party.  This The Voice inspired treat featuring Cee Lo Green (my friend’s favorite) was my gift to her.  An empty rum bottle was used for this concoction.  Be sure to cut the fruit small enough to fit through the head of the bottle.

What You Need:

  • Empty Bottle – rinsed, cleaned, dried
  • Fruit (one each) – orange, pear, peach – peeled and diced
  • Ginger – peeled and julienne
  • White Wine – one 1.75 ml bottle (sweet)
  • Cointreau
  • Lime
  • Soda/Seltzer Water
  • Casa Noble Tequilla (this is organic)
  • Stock Paper – white, black, printed
  • Clear Shelf Liner Paper
  • Glue
  • Ribbon or twine

How To:

  • Create and Print label (larger than bottle label) for face, neck, and backing (Word used here)
  • Glue labels to face, neck, and back of bottle
  • Cover labels with clear shelf liner so that sweating doesn’t bleed the ink
  • Attach picture (Cee Lo Green is captioned here) with ribbon around neck
  • Skin and cut fruit (orange, pear, peach) and add to bottle
  • Cut and add ginger (thumb sized-amount)
  • Add bottle of white wine (sweet)
  • Add 1/4 cup soda water
  • Add juice from 1/2 lime
  • Add 1 oz. cointreau
  • Add 1.5 oz tequilla
  • Chill for 1 hour before serving
